HTC One M8’s Plastic-Equivalent 'HTC One E8' Priced At $99.99 With Sprint
Sprint has announced that the plastic variant of the HTC One (M8), dubbed as the HTC One (E8) smartphone can now be purchased from the carrier.
The U.S. based carrier has listed Polar White and Misty Gray variants of the HTC One (E8). The price details are also out with different choices to choose from. If opting for a contract scheme, the HTC One (E8) can be availed for $99.99 under two-year contract. In case, readers would like to go for Sprint's Easy Pay instalment scheme, buyers need not pay any amount during the purchase. However, $20.84 should be paid every month for a total of 23 months in addition to a final payment of $20.67 on the 24th month, according to GSM Arena.
Additionally, potential buyers who would not like to opt for a contract or instalment option can also buy the device outright for $499.99, says Geeky Gadgets. The stand-out points about the aforementioned device include HTC BoomSound with dual stereo speakers in the front and a balanced amplifier boost bass guaranteeing crystal clear vocals/tracks.
When it comes to other salient specifications, the HTC One (E8) features a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution and 441 ppi of pixel density. The One E8 is made of polycarbonate material. The One (M8)'s brushed metal unibody is replaced with a plastic exterior in the One E8. This helps in reducing the weight to 145 g from 160 g of the HTC One M8. The device is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor and 2 GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the handset runs on Android OS v4.4.2 KitKat along with HTC's Sense 6.0 UI on top of it. Also, this device comes equipped with 16 GB of internal storage capacity and supports microSD card for expansion up to 128 GB. The HTC smartphone houses a good 13 MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5 MP secondary snapper. It is backed by a 2600 mAh battery unit that provide up to 26 hours of talk time and 504 hours of stand-by time.
Apart from standard connectivity options, the phone also supports NFC. In addition to supporting nano-SIM, the One E8 comes with dual-SIM support. Surprisingly, the official press release did not showcase Sprint logo on the handset, as pointed out by GSM Arena.
