Very recently, HTC launched the long-awaited One M9+ phablet at a press event in Beijing, China. Considered as the bigger sibling of the flagship One M9, the HTC One M9+ release date is apparently pegged for Q2 2015. Meanwhile, the bigger sibling of iPhone 6 dubbed Apple iPhone 6 Plus was released in September 2015 at a price of $749. HTC One M9+ Vs. iPhone 6 Plus: Display And Design
The HTC One M9+ features a 5.2-inch Super LCD3 screen complemented by 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. And this display combination translates to a killer pixel density of 534 ppi. Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus comes with a relatively bigger 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display. However, the screen density is comparatively inferior at 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Therefore, the Apple handset’s pixel density comes down to 401 ppi. It is worth reminding that, the higher the pixel density, the display looks sharper and clearer.
When it comes to design, Apple has reportedly taken a cue from the design philosophy of the iPad Air to elevate the iPhone 6 Plus design. The phone comes with a brilliant metallic exterior that resembles a ceramic base and the rear panel is extremely comfortable on the hands. Additionally, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with rounded corners and the general design of the handset provides sleek look, notes Tech Radar. On the other hand, the HTC One M9+ resembles the flagship One M9 and the device features HTC BoomSound speakers and Dolby Surround sound support. Furthermore, as speculated earlier, the home button of the handset comes with a fingerprint sensor, supporting the AliPay payment system specific to China. It is worth noting that, the flagship M9 does not come with a fingerprint scanner. And speaking of colour, the tech giant will reportedly offer the device in Gunmetal grey, Amber Gold and Silver Gold colours, notes GSM Arena.

The HTC One M9+ is powered by an octa-core (Mediatek MT6795T) SoC, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus comes powered by a dual-core (Apple A8) processor. While the One M9+ is backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM, the Apple handset settles for just 1 GB RAM unit.
Moving on to the software specification, the HTC handset runs on Android v5.0.2 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense UI 7.0, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus runs on iOS 8, which is upgradable to iOS 8.3. Moreover, the One M9+ offers 32 GB of storage space, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus comes equipped with 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of built-in storage. Like other HTC handsets, the M9+ also supports microSD card for expansion up to 128 GB, while the Apple device doesn’t.

The iPhone 6 Plus houses an 8 MP rear-facing camera unit with dual-LED (dual tone) flash, OIS and HDR. Meanwhile, the HTC One M9+ beats the iPhone 6 Plus with a humongous 20.7 MP + 2.1 MP primary unit bundled with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and HDR. Plus, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 1.2 MP secondary shooter, while the One M9+ sports a 4 MP snapper. When it comes to battery specification, the HTC One M9+ features a Li-Po 2,840 mAh non-removable unit, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus comes equipped with a relatively better Li-Ion 2,915 mAh non-removable unit.

1. Apart from the standard connectivity options, both the smartphones support LTE. Besides, the One M9+ also supports Infrared port and NFC. And additionally, the Apple device supports Siri, the digital personal assistant.
2. While the HTC handset comes with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, the Apple device utilises ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating. And as mentioned earlier, similar to the iPhone 6 Plus, the HTC One M9+ also comes with a fingerprint scanner. While Apple handset supports Apple Pay, the HTC device supports China-specific AliPay, at this point.
