Taiwanese manufacturer HTC may be planning to release its own phablet dubbed as HTC One Max that aims to beat the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 6.

HTC, Samsung's main rival on Android, is thought to be harnessing a phablet device of its own, a larger version of the HTC One called the HTC T6, also thought to be called the HTC One Max. The device has surfaced in rumours over the past few weeks.

HTC aims to take a bite on Samsung and Apple sales by releasing a cheaper smartphone, which carries almost the same specs and features.

HTC's phablet codenamed HTC T6 is also rumoured to come with a stylus. Reports claimed that just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC phablet will boast a 5.9-inch full HD display (most likely a Super LCD3 unit), while being underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The list of technical specifications also includes 2 GB of RAM and, of course, the 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera sensor borrowed from the HTC One, all together with BoomSound speakers. The phablet is also rumoured to have a powerful 3,300 mAh removable battery.

Tech blog DigiTimes reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date has been set for July - August time frame, as the South Korea-based company seeks to bite a big chunk of Apple's market share by countering the rumoured iPhone 6 and/or iPhone 5S launch with a powerful high-end smartphone.

It is initially reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make its debut in the third quarter of this year. Rumours point to possible September release date. There are speculations that Samsung will hold the announcement of the Note 3 on the annual IFA event in Berlin.

Apple's iPhone 6 is rumoured to be released later this year or early next year. There is a rumour that Apple will commence production of iPhone in July and August for September release date. The smartphone is anticipated to include a wide array of amazing features.

The HTC T6, on the other hand, will have an alleged release date set for early fall and will run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie out of the box.
