HTC One to Receive 4.3 Jelly Bean Update; Skips 4.2.2 Upgrade
HTC One will be skipping the 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean OS and will receive the 4.3 Jelly Bean update.
HTC president Jason Mackenzie confirmed that HTC will be rolling out the 4.3 version of Jelly Bean as the Android 4.2.2 offers limited customer benefit. The president also said that the release is close. However, the president does not specify how close is "close".
Users of the HTC One Google Play Edition are the lucky ones who already received the 4.3 update.
The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will include tweaks and fixes to the camera UI and Bluetooth Low Energy, as well as Open GL ES 3.0 gaming graphics and 4K video playback support.
HTC is trying to gain consumers; however, users are dissatisfied with the pace of the OS updates on their smartphones. However, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update schedule for HTC One seems encouraging but the company has disappointed the users before.
Thus, we will have to wait and see in September whether an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean rollout happens. HTC Droid DNA is also expected to receive a 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade. However, it is also speculated whether other HTC devices will receive the 4.3 Jelly Bean update.
The HTC One is considered as one of the most powerful smartphones and best buys in the market. It features a 4.7-inch 1080p display; 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU; 2GB of RAM; 4MP Ultrapixel; 32GB of internal storage and 2,300 mAh battery.
Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is expected to release new devices this year. Rumour has it that HTC will launch HTC One Max, which is the company's own phablet. Moreover, according to evleaks, HTC will unveil HTC Zara that is the black plastic version of the HTC One.
However, HTC still has to confirm these rumours.
