T-Mobile, one of the largest mobile carriers in the United States, announced in a press release on Monday that the new HTC One smart phone will be offered at a price of US$99.99. The unit of Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG is attempting to attract customers from the traditional two-year contract model to new rate plans without smart phone subsidies.

The press release statement reads: "The T-Mobile subscribers currently have to pay US$99.99 upfront for certain 4G long-term evolution (LTE) devices and US$20 in monthly installments over the following two years, adding up to US$580." However, the company did not confirm when the HTC One smart phone will be available for purchase.

T-Mobile's low-priced approach is projected to lessen the customers' costs. The other rival carriers such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint Nextel typically charge the subscribers with a US$200 upfront price for an LTE handset under a two-year contract like the Apple iPhone 5.

Meanwhile, HTC declared the release of the HTC One has been delayed until April 2013. Previous reports claimed that the new HTC One could go on sale at 1 to 2 months after the smart phone's launch at AT&T, Verizon, Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint.

The HTC statement reads: "HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers' patience and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait."

Even though the mobile carriers did not give any comment to confirm when they will release the HTC One, it is expected that all of the four carriers will put on the market the HTC One smart phone simultaneously.
