Australians shopping for the HTC One and Google Nexus 4 online would find that the latter costs $439 (8GB) and $489 (16GB) on MobiCity. The mobile phone price tags are marked $379 and $499, respectively, on Kogan. In contrast, the HTC One price tag shows a seemingly more costly $759 on MobiCity (pre-orders only). HTC One vs Google Nexus 4: Price Differentiators

The HTC One on MobiCity has 32GB of internal storage space. Both One and Nexus 4 don't allow extra storage space, so in that aspect, the One easily wins.

Suppose you don't worry much about storage, but you put a high premium on screen display, you'll still want the HTC One over the Nexus 4. Both phones sport a 4.7-in screen size, but the HTC One features a crisp and stunning 1920×1080p display (468 ppi) against the 1280×768p (316 ppi) of Nexus 4. The difference here is big on paper, and hard to miss when the actual phones are compared side-by-side. (Scroll down for a video comparison.)

In terms of brainpower, the HTC One has a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, a relatively new processor, which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress a couple of weeks ago. It's Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 for the Nexus 4. However, if you're a light-to-moderate phone user, chances are you will notice little-to-no difference here. But if you're often multi-tasking in media consumption and playing a lot of games, you'd want the newer, more robust system. Both phones have the Adreno 320 supporting the graphics with 2GB of RAM.

HTC One vs Google Nexus 4: Vanilla Android vs HTC Perks and UltraPixel Camera

For Android-savvy users, it matters much that the Nexus 4 offers what they call a vanilla Android experience. They can tweak the system in any way they prefer. Nexus 4 also runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and it is always first in line when it comes to OS updates.

HTC One, on the other hand, has some pretty nice new features for those looking for a new Android experience. Its HTC Sense 5.0 user interface is for not-so-techie individuals who have a lot of social media connections. The HTC One BlinkFeed gives users a Flipboard-like snapshot of all the custom information they need. Other One perks include the low-light-effective UltraPixel camera and the Zoe app, which revolutionizes the photo-video gallery.

The HTC One and Google Nexus 4 are both powerful Android modern smartphones. The right mobile device for you is the one which gives you better value for money. Then again, it could be whichever phone that is more fun to use for you.
