HTC One vs LG Nexus 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S4 Review: Which is 2013 Best Android Phone?
HTC One is the best Android phone, at least according to users surveyed by a popular website. The survey gathered nearly 17,000 votes. LG Nexus 4 ranked second place, while Samsung Galaxy S4 took the third spot.
Lifehacker.com, which conducted the poll, noted: "The best Android phones represent a powerhouse combination of features, specs, and all-around user experience." At the same time, it clarified that the poll results do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the web site. HTC One apparently won out against the others for its "build quality, sleek aluminum finish, and the new Sense 5.0 user interface."
Five Android phones made it to the survey. HTC One was voted by 32.42 per cent of the online respondents. LG Nexus 4 took 28.13 per cent of the pie; and Samsung Galaxy S4, 19.92 per cent.
Following HTC One and the rest of the Top 3 Android handsets are Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The large display Note 2 was chosen by 10.15 per cent of the voters; while the Galaxy Nexus, 9.38 per cent.
HTC One immediately drew rave reviews during its unveiling earlier this year. Notably absent from the Best Android Phone survey is the water and dust resistant handset from Sony, the Xperia Z. Equally noteworthy is how the Galaxy S4 was considered less impressive than the late-2012 entry, Nexus 4. Consistent with this poll result is the lackluster reviews cast on the S4 soon after its April 2013 release.
The One's classy aluminum design is one of its best attractions. It does not join the 5-in screen handsets, but its 4.7-in 1920 x 1080 pixels display makes for a stunning screen, anyway. This handset is only 9.3mm thick. Inside the HTC One is a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, clocking at 1.7GHz on board a Qualcomm chip with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and 32GB internal storage. Formerly known as M7, One runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. HTC is particularly proud of the One's Ultrapixel camera and Zoe camera/gallery features.
In Australia, the HTC One costs $759 in Mobicity. LG Nexus 4 costs $449, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 (4G LTE) price tag is marked $739.
