New Zealand-born fashion designer Anjhe Mules, who is now in London, has been chosen to feature her futuristic sportswear in the movie, "Catching Fire," the latest installment in the Hunger Games series.

Ms Mules, who was born and raised in Kerikeri, New Zealand, was chosen based on a Google search result. She is a creative director for London-based Lucas Hugh, a clothing label for luxury sportswear.

In an interview with the Herald, Ms Mules said she was in shock when she was contacted by the Hunger Games' costume designer, who came across her name by chance using an Internet search. The costume designer used the search term "futuristic sportswear" on Google and saw a jacket designed by Ms Mules. It turned out the jacket was perfect for "Catching Fire."

Ms Mules said she was thrilled with the news since she's a big fan of the Hunger Games. The worldwide premiere of "Catching Fire" is happening in cinemas on Nov. 21.

For eighteen months, Ms Mules has been designing and creating costumes for the "tributes" in the movie. They are characters who will fight to the death in the futuristic and dystopian-themed movie.

Ms Mules designed costumes like jackets, jumpsuits, singlets and tights. Most of them are black with greys and metallic silvers for stylized panels. She said she didn't meet the cast during the filming of the movie but she was able to meet them during the premiere.

Ms Mules asked the Hunger Games stars if they liked the costumes she designed. They said they were happy with her costumes since they were hesitant to wear lycra.

Viewers watching "Catching Fire" will see Lucas High-designed sportswear in the first half of the film with the tributes training for the games.

Ms Mules' father was a kiwifruit grower in Kerikeri where she grew up. She moved to Jamaica, Auckland, Wellington and New York before finally settling in London. The luxury athletic wear designer studied fashion design at Wellington's Massey University. Her parents and siblings have remained in Auckland.
