Web browser maker Opera Software has developed a new mobile web browser that can load pages faster on devices running on the Android operating system.

The Norwegian company said it will launch next year the Opera with Turbo that combines the traditional browser feature of its Opera Mobile and the file compressing power of its Opera Mini to make browsing and data transfer on Android devices faster.

"We'd like to take Mini and put it into Mobile," Boilesen told CNET. "We call it Opera with Turbo for Android...That is something we are looking forward to launch at the beginning of next year," said Opera Software Chief Executive Lars Boilesen, according to CNET.com.

Opera with Turbo works by automatically detecting if a network is busy and switches page rendering from the device to the Opera server, which sends a downsized version of the page thus cutting data transfer time. The action also helps save on battery life as the device will not use so much energy in loading page under a weak wi-fi signal.

The Turbo feature in the hybrid browser is the Opera servers' image compression tool that eliminates sending of Web page code such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS over the mobile network.

The Opera Mobile is popular on low-end devices with about 200 million users in more than 20 countries. Handset makers also use the Opera as the default Web browser.
