The Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may have broken up in real life but the two have reunited on the Atlanta set for the upcoming Season 5 of their successful TV series. Devoted TVD fans are still hoping that the ex-couple will rekindle their romance and Jo Hemmings, a relationship expert, believes that love could be lovelier the second time around for Ian and Nina.

Ian and Nina thrown into working together after their split appear to be so premature and the relationship expert shared her thoughts on this matter.

"It's a bit like life imitating art, I think their best bet is to distance themselves as much as possible from what went on in real life and just concentrate on what goes on on-screen," Ms Hemmings stated.

She further added: "They're going about it the right way. They're obliged to do this and they've aware of that. It's a very mature response." When asked about the upcoming kissing and sex scenes between Ian and Nina's character Damon and Elena, Jo Hemmings admitted that it will be inevitably awkward.

"That must be one of the most awkward things. The chemistry that you have during a kiss, that you may have once had, to go back to that must be awkward. They will have to put their acting hats on!" the relationship expert explained. Furthermore, Ian and Nina's recent interaction on the social networking site Twitter serves as a good sign of possible romantic reunion in the future.

"They're tweeting away about each other, whether that's superficial or not I don't know, but assuming it's not there I think there is every chance they could rekindle what started out on the show," Ms Hemmings shared.

In the mean time, Ian Somerhalder's work schedule gets more hectic as Showtime President David Nevins confirmed the heartthrob actor's involvement in the documentary "Years of Living Dangerously." Executive producers James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jerry Weintraub are the masterminds behind the upcoming documentary and Ian Somerhalder will star alongside Matt Damon, Michael C. Hall, Don Cheadle and Olivia Munn.

"We know how to create noise off our air, we know how to make noise. Years of Living Dangerously has giant size to it. We're spending a lot of money, it is going to feel like Jim Cameron size. It is a big action movie style production with great human stories," Mr Nevins shared. The documentary is anticipated to air at Showtime on a six to eight hour-long segments in 2014.
