Ian Somerhalder on Twitter: 'Vampire Diaries' Actor Expresses Concern on Kids' Health, Hints Team Up with Enzo in Season 5
Actor Ian Somerhalder is known for actively posting mixed Twitter messages about his work, a little on his personal life and his opinions on some important issues. "The Vampire Diaries" star's latest tweets sounded off his concern on the health condition of kids along with a sneak peek on what his character, Damon Salvatore, will be up to in Season 5 of the CW TV series.
"Parents-respect you-I must ask: How can u decide its a good, healthy & safe idea to give a young obese kid, sick & on antibiotics a sugary huge. Soda w/ nachos & cheese when other options r right next to them. We r building a nation of Obese mouth-breathing kids hopped up on sugar & chemicals," Mr Somerhalder wrote on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder.
The actor further posted: "How are our kids going to think?Lets PLEASE put our best foot forward and start nourishing our little ones-stop poisoning them? Please? Thank u." Just Jared reports Ian Somerhalder arrived at the LAX Airport on Monday, December 16, after posting his series of tweets.
Ian's Twitter post on Thursday, December 12, hinted about his vampire character, Damon Salvatore, teaming up with his old troubled friend Enzo (Michael Malarkey). "Damon + Enzo = Denzo in the HOUSE! On the 'Vampire Diaries' set shooting great scenes with my new bro & Damon Salvatore's partner-in-crime @mkmalarkey aka Michael Malarkey/Enzo Awwwww how sweet ...." Ian posted with the Instagram photo attached showing blood bags for the Augustine vampires.
In the TV Line report, "Vampire Diaries" executive producer Caroline Dries hinted that fans will be seeing more Damon-Enzo interaction when Season 5 resumes on January 2014. "Enzo and Damon have a very complicated relationship. He's holding a grudge against Damon. But at the same time, he also admitted he has no friends," Ms Dries shared.
The executive producer further added: "He and Damon went through this horrible, trying time together. If you think about the way soldiers bond over trauma, that's kind of what they went through. So it's not as simple as saying they're enemies or they're friends. They're a mixture of good and bad."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 returns to the CW network with the brand new episode "500 Years of Solitude" on Thursday night, January 23.
