IGN presents a list of unlockables, and how to go about the specific unlockable content that you want to obtain. For this part, you'll learn about what you need to unlock items, how to level up, and how to unlock characters, battles, and hero cards.

What you need: Access Cards and Armory

Leveling up also lets you earn Access Cards and Armory Keys, which serve different purposes in unlocking different items.

For the most part, Access Cards can be obtained when you level up, and you can use all 84 Access Cards for unlockable extras, concept art, and music.

Armory Keys are more difficult to obtain and fewer (there are only 24) compared to the Access Cards. This is because Armory Keys let you unlock alternate costumes, but you can get all of the Armory Keys when you reach level 51.

How to level up

For Injustice, you can go through a total of 100 levels via Experience Points. These can be obtained in the form of bonuses through any of the game modes available except in Practice and Tutorial modes.

Some of the bonuses include win, lose, time remaining, health remaining, interactive object, perfect round, super move, first hit, environmental destruction, and clash.

Better gaming experience comes if you opt to go through the actual Story line (it presents a great narrative that you can enjoy), the S.T.A.R. Labs missions, and the battles.

How to get Match Boosts for more battles

There are a total of 20 battles in the entire game, with five battles already unlocked at the start. All the other battle moeds can be unlocked with only the use of 1 Access Card. But there are four combos where you can get Experience Points (XP) for a specific number of matches, these are called the Match Boost modes.

  1. Match Boost with 2x XP for 5 matches (requires 1 Access Card and Level 5 Attained)
  2. Match Boost with 3x XP for 10 matches (requires 3 Access Cards and Level 10 Attained)
  3. Match Boost with 4x XP for 25 matches (requires 5 Access Cards and Level 25 Attained)
  4. Match Boost with 5x XP for 50 matches (requires 10 Access Cards and Level 50 Attained)

Unlocking alternate costumes

Injustice: Gods Among Us features 24 characters in total, split into villains and heroes. Each character has a specific alternate costume, which can be unlocked using Armory Keys or upon completion of battles.

A quick rundown of characters and their alternate costumes

  1. Aquaman, Ares, Bane, Black Adam, Cyborg, Doomsday, Hawkgirl, Killer Frost, Raven, Sinestro, and Wonder Woman all have only the Regime alternate costume.
  2. Batman and The Joker have Insurgency and Arkham City costumes.
  3. Catwoman has Regime and Arkham City costumes.
  4. Deathstroke, Green Arrow, and Harley Quinn have Insurgency costume,
  5. The Flash has Regime, Elseworld, and New 52 costumes.
  6. Green Lantern has the Regime and Yellow Lantern costumes.
  7. Lex Luthor has the Insurgency and Kryptonite Suit costumes.
  8. Nightwing and Shazam have the Regime and New 52 alternate costumes.
  9. Solomon Grundy has the Regime and Boss Grundy costumes.
