Apple's iPhone 4S, unveiled Tuesday, is a faster and more powerful version of the current model.

It runs on a dual-core A5 chip, like the iPad 2. It has seven times the graphic capabilities of the iPhone 4, ideal for gaming.

The graphics were impressive in the demo of Infinity Blade 2, a game that uses finger gestures to move the character as it faces different foes in fantastic swordplay. The new game shows off the capacity of the phone to dynamically render environments in real time. The game would be an exclusive for the iPhone 4S as of Dec. 1.

Aside from a faster processor, the 4S is claimed to be a world phone. It is equipped with GSM and CDMA, making it possible to use with other telephone services all over the world. The device has an impressive battery life, with eight hours of talk time, 14 hours for 2G talk time and 6 hours of 3G web browsing. It has two antennas for twice the speed in taking and sending signals.

The camera in the iPhone 4s is aimed to rival point-and-shoot cameras and possibly the DSLR markets. Apple has claimed that there are more Flickr iPhone uploads than uploads from point-and-shoot cameras and DSLRs combined. The iPhone 4s is equipped with an 8 megapixel sensor with a resolution of 3264 x 2448, 60 percent more than the last iPhone released. It has an backside illuminated sensor and hybrid IR filter. With a wider aperture and faster shutter speed it can take crisper pictures and take a picture every 0.5 seconds. It is capable of taking 1080p HD video and has face detection built in.

The iPhone 4s will be available for pre-order Friday and on sale Oct. 14. It will be available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany and Japan with 22 more countries by Oct. 28 and will be released to 70 more countries by the end of 2011. The price for the device would be $199 US for a 16GB version, $299 US for the 32GB and $399 US for the 64Gb version.

Siri comes with the iPhone 4s and as the same with all Apple devices operating on iOS5, will come with access to the Apple iCloud. Siri was also one of the main topics at Tuesday's "Let's Talk iPhone" event along with the iCloud which will be launched Oct. 12 for all iOS devices.

A new model of iPhone 4 is also announced with 8GB memory at $99 and will come at black and white. The new 8GB iPhone 3Gs will be offered free that comes with a two-year contract with the service provider in the U.S. The public has anticipated that an iPhone 5 will be released but it was not to be. There were no indications for an iPhone 5 at the event.
