Inside Kate Middleton, Prince William's Anglesey Life: Fancy Dresses, Cinema Trips, and Motorbike Rides [PHOTOS/VIDEOS]

In less than two weeks, Prince William, Kate Middleton and son Prince George - will move into their first 'official' residence (a four-storey, 20-room apartment in Kensington Palace). Prince William who is the second in line to the throne will then take on the first phase of his position and duties as a royal.

Until now locals of Anglesey have been averse to verbalize about the newlywed royal couple who lived amidst them, as they do not want to hinder with the privacy the royal couple evidently looked-for. The royal couple rented their first marital abode from family friend Sir George Meyrick and his wife Jean. William and Kate, when were not riding on motorcycle were often spotted spending time and having treats up at their landlords 'place.

As now the royal family is leaving Anglesey so several locals have spoken to the Mail about their time on the island and many experiences they had with the royals. We have rounded up main highlights of the royal couple's stay at Anglesey:

In the summer of 2010, two weeks before announcing their engagement, Kate Middleton and Prince William decided to have some little fun and to watch Toy Story 3. They dressed up in retro style with huge afro wigs to go out at the Empire picture house in Holyhead.

Why Did The royal couple play dress up?

"They turned up in fancy dress and wore big afro wigs. Prince William's was purple if I remember rightly," Jean Owen, manager of the cinema, told The Daily Mail.

"No one knew they were coming until they turned up, and they said they were wearing the wigs for charity."

Hence, there was a reason but had the royal couple dressed up just for the fun that would've been quite interesting, too.

Another staff member told, "Although they were trying to be incognito, people recognized them instantly-, but no one would have dreamed of taking a photograph. That's just not the way things are done on Anglesey."

And that's perhaps why Kate Middleton and Prince William had all good things to say about Anglesey, as the royal couple prepare to leave the island after more than three years of residing there to begin the next chapter of their life in London.

Prince William spoke avidly of his time on the island off the North-West coast of Wales with Kate when he made an official speech announcing his departure last month.

"I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey,' he said. 'Both of us will miss it terribly when my Search and Rescue tour of duty comes to an end."

"This island has been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both," "Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family."

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my wife and me so welcome when we arrived here," he continued. "I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey." Prince William said according to www.eonline.com.

One local resident, Lesley Matthews told the Mail: "A while ago, we had a Sky TV man come out to attend to some repair, but his SatNav took him to their farmhouse."

"He got halfway down the drive and then a load of security men with guns jumped out at him. He came round here in a bit of a state saying: "I can't believe what's just happened - I went to Prince William's address instead of yours." "He had a hot reception."

Mrs Matthew said: "I saw William jogging on his own several times near our farm. He would wave and say hello, even though he must have run for several miles."

"He and Kate would go pheasant shooting once a month, when he had a day off. My grandson would regularly see them there. They were always very friendly, asking how we were."

50 years old neighbour Jane Nay recalled : 'I could set my watch by the time he left for work every day at 6.45am, usually in a black Range Rover followed by security."

"But a few times his work Search & Rescue helicopter [a Sea King] came to collect him. There must be room to land a helicopter in the grounds of the farm. It made a huge racket."

Kate would visit the shops, browsing the bargains. One shopkeeper observed and told:

'She liked a bit of salmon fillet or cod loin,' 'She always asked what was fresh that day, and always about the price. I got the impression that she was quite careful with her money.'

Royal biographer and local resident, Michael Thornton would see her around her favourite supermarket, Waitrose at Menai Bridge and Homebase.

"The Duchess dressed casually and never wore make-up,' he said. 'She was always very friendly to the staff, who were very proud of the fact that she shopped there."

"The people here are not terribly royalist-minded and were ambivalent, at best, about their arrival, but she and William won Anglesey over with their warmth and low-key lifestyle - and trust me, the people of Anglesey are not easily swayed."

Prince William and Kate Middleton often visited the cinema halls and seen surfing at nearby Rhosneigr.
