In the new biography of Kate: 'Kate the Future Queen' authored by Katie Nicholl out this month from Weinstein Books, royal authority and Vanity Fair contributor Katie Nicholl summed up the Duchess of Cambridge's youngest days, from her schoolgirl years and bucolic upbringing to her initiation into "the Firm."

In the book, Nicholl reports on Kate's games with Pippa, her actor crushes, her teenage loves and losses, and her secret charity missions-analogous to those undertaken by her late mother-in-law, Diana. Let us have a sneak peek at new details on Kate's teenage years from 'Kate the Future Queen.'

Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge was born on January 9th 1982 as Catherine Elizabeth Middleton in Reading, Berkshire. She is the eldest of three children of Michael and Carole Middleton.

Nicholl mentioned more delectable evidence to Kate's apple-cheeked-childhood file: she wrote that, Kate and Pippa as young girls used to have sister "camping parties" in the backyard of their family's first home, in Royal Berkshire The Middletons, who bought West View in 1979, before Kate's arrival, sold the home in 1995. The "camping parties" happened in the scenic gardens at West View.

KATE: CHILDHOOD

HER FIRST KISS

"Kate had a crush on a handsome sports star at Marlborough College called Woody Webster," Nicholl reports that 14-year-old Kate had a crush on the former tennis-player B.M.O.C. at Marlborough, for whom would wait around after matches. The duo used to share kisses behind Merlin's Mound, a landmark on the grounds.

Kate also participated heavily in sports, and quickly became one of its most celebrated pupils, excelling at almost every form of sport including tennis, hockey, swimming, netball and rounders.

HER SECRET ACTOR CRUSH

Nicholl revealed that Kate had developed a teenage love for the movie "Cocktail" (The film stars Tom Cruise), calling it at one point her favourite film, and that she had a crush on Tom Cruise.

HER HEARTACHE OVER HER GAP YEAR

Nicholl reports that Harry Blakelock, a classmate who was a year older than Kate was her first love. Blakelock left Kate "devastated" and "broken-hearted,"

HER FIRST-CHOICE COLLEGE

As per Kate's teachers, with whom Nicholl spoke, Kate originally wanted to attend not St. Andrew's but Edinburgh, applying there to study art history and receiving a letter of acceptance. But Kate made the unexpected decision to drop her place, opting in its place to take a gap year and re-apply, this time to St. Andrew's.

As Nicholl reports, "[i]t was a big risk-applicants to St. Andrew's had shot up by nearly 50 percent when the Palace announced that Prince William was going there." We think you know the rest.

Kate revealed during her speech there that she "absolutely loved my time here; they were some of my happiest years, which makes it so incredibly special to be here today. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I had to leave, I told my mother that I was going to come back to be a teacher. While that didn't quite happen, I was thrilled to have been asked back today on St. Andrew's Day.‬ It was while I was here at school that I realised my love of sport. Sport has been a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had to get outside and play in such wonderful open spaces - though sadly there was nothing quite as glamorous as this in my time!"

HER MEET WITH PRINCE WILLIAM

"Until now, it has always been believed that William and Kate first met at St. Andrew's, in fact, they met a couple of years before, in the summer of 1999 when Kate was at Marlborough and spending time with the 'Glossy Posse'"-Prince William and Prince Harry's inner circle, whom Kate encountered at a few parties through mutual friends. (She would have been 17 at the time.) While away in Florence, she told a friend she'd met the prince "once or twice"-several months before arriving in Scotland for university." Nicholl says

HER FIRST KISS WITH WILLIAM

A former student at St. Andrew's who was affable with Kate and William both confirms to Nicholl that it was after that fashion show.

HER PHILANTHROPY UNDER COVER

Nicholl reported that akin to Diana, who used to do covert hospital rounds and hospice bedside talks during the media-less hours of the night, Kate undertook clandestine volunteer work. Before she wedded into the royal family, but after she would become serious with William, Kate "started carrying out charitable work below the radar-she paid secret visits to the Naomi House children's hospice close to the Middletons' Bucklebury home," Nicholl says.

When Kate wedded into the royal family her former school friends said that they believe Kate will prove to be a 'breath of fresh air' for the Royal Family.

"It's rather surreal knowing that she will be Queen one day, but by all accounts she is as refreshingly normal as always. It's still hard to imagine her becoming Queen one day, but I can tell you one thing, the royals are lucky to have her."

Indeed Kate embodied all their words and proved to be 'breath of fresh air' for the Royal Family and all royal watchers.
