Internode takes another stab at the Wi-Fi pocket modem market with the new Huawei E5832, a personal wireless router that can share a 3G internet connection with up to three other Wi-Fi enabled devices like notebooks, tablets and smartphones. The Huawei is a less costly version of the MiFi 2352 mobile hotspot device that Internode released last year. The Huawei costs $149 outright or $49 on a 24 month plan.

The modem weighs less than 100 grams and can easily be carried in handbags or briefcases. The modem has a built-in microSD slot for storage functions and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Once users turn on the switch they gain immediate access to a high-speed mobile broadband network via a 3G carrier. The device creates a secure personal Wi-Fi hotspot so if you feel like sharing the connection to your friends you can.

Jim Kellet, Internode product manager has this to say about the device. "It's easy to set up, has a great battery life and is very affordable, especially if you bundle it with a 24-month NodeMobile Data account."

The device operates on the 900MHz and 2100MHz spectrums and is not network locked. It only works on 3G so you can't use it on the NextG. The device is a good alternative if you don't have a smartphone with its own wireless hotspot and at its price it's a bargain.

The package will include the rechargeable Lithium battery, USB cable and AC charger. It is available on the Internode website.
