iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S Causes Battery Problems, iOS 6.1.2 Coming Soon?
The iOS 6.1.1 update for iPhone 4S users is creating some battery drain problems, according to many users who raised the matter on Apple Support Communities. The iOS update was released Monday last week. Within days, several users have expressed regret over updating the OS of their mobile device.
In its software update description, Apple says the iOS 6.1.1 "update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S." Apparently, the solution is now causing battery reliability issue causing an impact to customer satisfaction.
"I'm on my 6th 4S handset since summer 2012! Last night (11/2) I updated my phone with iOS 6.1.1 and the battery life is worse than ever before! All apps are fully closed down, Wifi/Bluetooth are turned off! Screen brightness is down to 18%. I've no e-mail accounts set up! Location services are switched off," reads a post from Jackprentice2007 on Apple Support Communities.
Some comments related the iOS 6.1.1 update to the big picture involving the tech giant. The comments hint Apple is only making things worse for its customers who used to be very happy with the firm's products.
"I'm fed up with Apple and their nonsense. (iOS) 6.1.1 made things worse, now my email just hands up, especially Gmail. I have deleted and re-added the account to no avail. Even Exchange will just hang minutes trying to send or get messages. Also causing worse (sic) battery life. You suck apple. Stop trying to make the coolest products and just make something that works, like you used to," writes mbrot008.
Apple has so far not made available a support page specific to the iOS 6.1.1 batter effect, but PC Tablet writes iOS 6.1.2 will be deployed in the following week.
