An alleged photo of a jailbroken iPod running in iOS 7 is quickly spreading on the Internet that signals the imminent release of a jailbreak for the new Apple iOS.

Ryan Petrich, an iOS hacker and engineer behind the popular Activator jailbreak app, posted a photo showing an error message preventing his jailbreak app from running because the system is too new.

A well-known jailbreak community member showed off an iOS 7 jailbreak on the iPod touch. In the photo, users see three default iOS 7 apps and the new iOS 7 app icons as well as the Activator icon. If this image came from someone outside of the iOS jailbreak community, these small items could easily be faked but given Petrich's standing in the community, this is likely the first real IOS 7 jailbreak photo.

Mr Petrich has to add more comments or information about the iOS 7 jailbreak. Thus, users should not rush into downloading and installing the rumoured jailbreak.

On the other hand, many developers and jailbreakers are not fans of the new iOS. Pod2g, one of the team's main members tweeted that he is not a fan of iOS 7.

However, Apple is in a constant battle with the iOS jailbreak teams, and we expect there will be significant roadblocks in the way to prevent an iOS 7 jailbreak from coming right at the iOS 7 release.

Tech giant Apple showed off its latest and updated operating system at the most recent WorldWide Developers' Conference. To the delight of many Apple fans, the new iOS comes with new fun features such as the music streaming feature dubbed as iTunes Radio.

One of the few actually new features to come to iOS is the Control Center which finally puts your most-used settings front and center and is available from any screen. Moreover, one very useful feature of the new OS is that the App Store gets automatic app updates in the new OS.

The official iOS 7 will be available to your iPhone and iPad this fall, but the beta versions of the new iOS are now available for download.
