iOS 7 Jailbreak Update: No Bounty Needed for iOS 7 Evasi0n JB; Evad3rs Working on Full Device Integration then It's Good to Go
In search for the quick completion of an open iOS 7 jailbreak, a bounty was dangled to developers but Team Evad3rs is not biting with one source claiming that work on the Evasi0n jailbreak is almost finished.
According to Jay Freeman, known for his coding accomplishments that produced Cydia, not a single member of Team Evad3rs would be prompted to hustle up in completing the iOS 7 unlocker, which is roughly on the third month of careful processing.
Monetising endeavours that tech activists take on with passion is not good at all, Freeman declares in a Reddit post.
"I've seen the effects of bounties in the Android ecosystem, and they are quite negative," the Cydia developer was quoted by Gotta Be Mobile as saying.
Also, Freeman shot down the necessity of an open source iOS 7 jailbreak, explaining that "almost all of the parts of the jailbreak that are relevant from jailbreak to jailbreak are actually open source; the idea that users can modify the source code and contribute to a jailbreak tool doesn't really make much sense."
Adding reward factor to the iOS jailbreak equation is out of place, considering Team Evad3rs has successfully released its version of iOS 6 jailbreak, which turned out as the best iPhone and iPad liberator out there, Freeman added.
As for the legit iOS 7 jailbreak, Freeman noted that it is known now in the jailbreak community that the next Evasi0n opus is coming out, and soon enough.
"Planetbeing (Team Evad3rs member) has already stated that they have what they need, and they are just working on integration and support for all devices," the developer added. That would mean the jailbreak will support all iPhone and iPad builds once it comes out.
And ensuring that the Evasi0n jailbreak will work smoothly on all iOS devices with few glitches on the horizon "is a lot of busywork," Freeman wrote.
So it is matter of waiting time but like Team Evad3rs, Freeman skipped out on providing any specific release date.
For now, jailbreakers can take comfort to the likelihood that right after Apple has issued the official iOS 7.1 update, Team Evad3rs would get to work, sift through the new coding and make the necessary adjustments to the Evasi0n jailbreak
Then the final form will be let out, which some reports said would happen around late January or early February 2014.
Note that the wait is not that too long as it took Team Evad3rs some five months to unlock iOS 6 and distribute its Evasi0n counterpart.
Meantime, the last word heard from Evad3rs was courtesy of Nikias Bassen, who according to GBM tweeted on Nov 20: "Another iDevice hacking day today! Ironically in an office above the Apple Store Hamburg Jungfernstieg."
