There is no denying that the quickly spreading iOS 7 is redefining the whole Apple gadget experience only some days after the platform upgrade was unleashed.

Yet with the superb features of the software also came a few disappointments.

The Huffington Post recently published its list of what it described as "downright annoying features," of the Jony Ive creation. The horror roll, the publication said, was affirmed by many 5S users, who were distracted by the misses on what is supposed to be an error-free package from the tech giant.

The list:

No master switch for killing apps

Android offers the Task Manager that also doubles as the instant zapper for idle applications. This move will free up RAM and prevents the device to gobble up system resources and slip into a lag. Likewise, users can readily download apps from Google Play Store that pretty much perform similar tasks.

It was expected that Apple will insert the same capability with iOS 7 but it mysteriously skipped out. So until the next update, 5S users will have to shut down opened apps manually and one by one.

Battery drain

This issue is now considered a plague for all iOS adopters and the culprit, according to the Huff Post is the new feature that allows background device activities like updating of installed apps.

Good thing, Apple provided a way to turn off this function, which is by going through this route: Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Users wanting to keep this default setting can at least cherry pick on the functions they wish kick out or keep on running.

Bad keyboard design

The iPhone 5S screen is small enough, for today's standard, at 4-inch yet Apple made the matter even more problematic, no thanks to a major oversight on the touch keyboard's design.

Huff Post asked: Why include quite a small Space key in the already crowded sets of tiny keys. Even the most efficient typist would find it hard to squeeze the tip of a finger on buttons that are placed too close from each other. The likelihood is, users will easily click the adjacent keys, making for an error-prone 5S messaging task.

Music library just got complicated

In previous iOS builds, enjoying music is a breeze. Users simply synch their iPhones, iPads and iPods to iTunes then plug in a headset to relish the music collection. Now the whole experience has become a maze that users need to deal first before they can pull up even a single track, the Huff Post said.

Back to the old system? No chance as Apple has reportedly closed down the gates that lead back to that route.

System fonts and charging symbols not eye-friendly

Checking the time on iPhone 5S has become a pain as Apple decided to employ system fonts on the device that requires efforts to read. More so if the phone background in use seems to meld with the letters, making it doubly harder to get the simple info users need to obtain.

And if battery status during charging is the question, the task again is no walk in the park. In iOS 7, the charging indicator was revised, pushed out of the battery icon, far into the right side and taking on a very grainy colour. This mix is a pain for many who are past the 20-20 vision stage.

Hopefully, these issues get the corresponding fixes in time for the iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 release date rumoured to happen either in October or November 2013.
