iOS 7.1 Release Date is March 2014: Best to Wait for Final Build and Avoid Evasi0n7 iOS 7 Jailbreak For Now
Release date of iOS 7.1, the final build, is set for March 2014, a new report said, as Beta 3 of the same software was seeded to developers.
With the report from BGR, the jailbreak community is faced with the spectre of longer waiting time for a better version of the freshly unleashed Evasi0n7 iOS 7 jailbreak from Team Evad3rs. The iPhone and iPad unlocking tool in its present form is fraught with glitches as numerous reports suggest.
And a fix, according to experts, will not be really available until Apple has finalised its work on iOS 7.1. Buggy as it is now, Evasi0n7 should achieve better stability once the 7.1 beta episodes have been put to rest.
In the finalised version, Team Evad3rs will at least have fewer variables to work around with in order to offer a jailbreak that is less problematic. So the wait will drag on for millions of iOS device users but to jailbreak now seems less appealing just the same.
Following the surprise Evasi0n7 release this week, issues immediately surfaced. Early adopters soon realised that while installing the iOS 7 alternative was as easy as the previous builds, using it is an entirely different experience
For one, Cydia, which serves as the hub for Evasi0n-optimised applications, is not fully supported in the new parallel iOS universe created by the Evad3rs. As Cydia creator Jay Freeman has declared in series of tweets - the Evasi0n before is very different from what has just been uncaged.
There is no guarantee too that Cydia will work smoothly with Evasi0n7 as Freeman admitted that for the iOS 7 JB, he was left in the dark. In short, Team Evad3rs chose not to closely collaborate with Freeman this time around.
And that is because of the Taig App Store, which is a Chinese-sponsored application online store that comes pre-installed with Evasi0n7.
With Taig on board, Team Evad3rs opted to cash on its latest jailbreaking efforts, according to known Evad3rs critic Stefan Esser, also known as @i0n1c.
"This Chinese "sponsored" store explains everything: explains why suddenly they do not take donations anymore and become freedom fighters," Esser said via Twitter on Dec 22.
There were allegations too that cash exchanged hands to the tune of $1M but what really came as a complete surprise is the proliferation of cracked or pirated apps on Taig, which to date is strictly banned from Cydia.
However, Team Evad3rs has issued a statement, dismissing accusations that it was selling off for commercial considerations. The group added that the pirated apps making to Evasi0n system was an oversight and corrective measures are now being implemented.
With all these confusions and issues, apart from the bugs and instability that came with the Evasi0n7 iOS jailbreak, jailbreak fans should take a hands-off attitude regarding the tool, Gotta Be Mobile said in a report.
Conventional wisdom dictates jailbreakers must wait until Team Evad3rs has sorted out the Evasi0n7 controversies or better yet, until a new version is out that likely carries the circumvents on the latest and upcoming iOS 7.1 betas.
