iOS 7.1.1 Update Provides Significant Improvements to iPhone and iPad Battery Life
Apple has released its iOS 7.1.1 update very recently, and it fixed few bugs introduced by the earlier roll out of iOS 7.1 update and Touch ID improvements.
Apparently, these are not the only improvements with this new update; not so long ago, many iPhone users complained about their battery getting depleted right in front of their eyes upon updating to iOS 7.1. According to reports, Apple's latest software update has brought in the much required improvement to battery life.
On Tuesday, Apple released iOS 7.1.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models but there was no news about any substantial enhancements or improvements. But according to ZDNet, Apple might have added some software optimizations specific to battery in their iOS 7.1.1 update, which in turn caused the dramatic improvement on iPhone 5′s battery performance.
Although the battery performance is purely based on individual use, the significant improvement in battery life experimented by ZDNet cannot be ignored.
As reported by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes from ZDNet, when he was running iOS 6, an average usage of six hours of iPhone 5 brought the battery life down to 74% from 100%. When he ran iOS 7 update, he could sense fairly negative impact on the battery performance at first, but things got better after a short period of time.
But the iOS 7.1 update threw the battery performance down-hill on his iPhone 5S. The same six hours of phone usage brought the charge down to an alarming 48% from 100%.
Nevertheless, with Tuesday's Apple iOS 7.1.1 software update, Adrian says, his iPhone 5's battery could sustain a 76% of charge after six hours of average phone usage from 100%; which is slightly better than his iOS 6 software update but a significant climb from iOS 7.1 update.
He also confirmed that, many iPhones are showing a similar battery performance improvement trend when compared to the last iOS update. The user comments also pointed out that iPad Air is also seeing battery life improvements with IOS 7.1.1 update.
Another user tried playing couple of games with the latest 1OS 7.1.1 update on his iPhone and he noticed that the battery level wasn't dropping as much as it used to do in the recent times after iOS 7.1 update. Hence, it is definitely a good news for both iPhone and iPad users.
