The race between Team Evad3rs and PanguTeam to first roll out the iOS 8 jailbreak update might be unintended but it looks like the Chinese devs are a step ahead in providing the upcoming iPhone 6 and iPad unlocking tool.

The latest development that greeted the jailbreak community this week, which is the same week that Apple will let out the new iPhones and iOS 8, came directly from China and it reads: An iOS 8 jailbreak is already on the way.

PanguTeam, according to Cult of Mac, broke the bits of news via Weibo, which is China's most popular social media site.

When the unlocker can be expected, the shout out did not mention. In fact, Pangu's announcement mostly dealt on the matter of reminding jailbreak fans jumping to the latest Apple mobile OS will lock them out from the exciting jailbreak experience, which is largely confirmed by most hackers.

Per BigBoss.org, it's best to stick with iOS 7.1.2 or install it now if the plan for iPhone and iPad users is to continue enjoying the benefits of jailbroken iDevice.

Echoing what most jailbreakers know by now, the blog site warned: "Remember that it will be a one-way trip to iOS 8, and there might not be a jailbreak available for iOS 8 for a long time. You will not be able to downgrade or restore to iOS 7 after upgrading to iOS 8."

As for the next Evasi0n build, activities on that side of the jailbreak sphere appear not too promising. As PanguTeam claims that work is now underway for an iOS 8 jailbreak, the respected Evasi0n7 creator offers no update to date.

And the likelihood is, a Pangu jailbreak will come out ahead of anything from the Evad3rs camp unless the team is silently working on something.

That exactly what Evad3r @MuscleNerd seems to hint about in a September 12 tweet: "The funnest part of major iOS release days is reading all the fixed CVEs http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6441 and knowing there will always be more holes."

No solid news there but the Evad3rs member sounds optimistic that Evasi0n7 will eventually morph into Evasi0n8, meaning there is a chance for an iOS 8 jailbreak but when will it touchdown cannot be answered for now.

Assumption is the best option for now and it is likely that the first jailbreak build, whether coming from Team Evad3rs or PanguTeam, will only materialise right after the first major iOS 8 patch from Apple.

This point to an iOS 8 jailbreak release date around December 2014, at the earliest and that is the Evad3rs will keep to the launch model they used with the Evasi0n7 in 2013 when it was issued December 22.
