The iOS 9.3 brings multi-user mode to iPad
Notes app will now be password protected.
Apple has announced iOS 9.3 , the latest iteration of its iOS operating system. The update will come with a handful of features that users wanted for a long time. Currently, the iOS 9.3 is available only as beta software to developers.
The iOS 9.3 will bring in the most significant upgrade in the domain of educational features for students using iPads. Through the multi-user mode, this version update will enable schools using iPads to allow students to sign into any iPad in a class. Teachers can conduct sessions directly via a built-in Classroom app.
Through the classroom app, the teacher will be able to keep a tab on each student and understand which app is being used by them. Tecahers can lock specific apps if they are not supposed to be used by the students. The app can also be used for screen sharing.
The iOS 9.3 will also add easy account and device management and roaming profiles to iPads. However, Apple clarified that the multi-user mode is especially aimed at students and would not be avaialble to all users.
Many Notes app users store important piece of information including passwords which are extremely sensitive. The update will also introduce password protection and Touch ID support to keep private notes safe and secure. Users can now store personal data including financial details, medical info and website logins without hesitation.
According to MacWorld, the update will consist of improvements in Siri support for languages (incorporating Hebrew, Finish and Malay ); include Duplicate’ option in Photos app; help to display Activity app data in the Health app; enable users to switch to corresponding apps via the Wallet app and enhance Apple Music support in CarPlay.
The latest update will also include another interesting feature named ‘Night Shift’ mode. This mode will adjust the colours of the screen according to the time of day.
It means, the display of the iPhone and iPad will change its colours depending on the location of the device. Moreover, the iOS 9.3 update will also bring new 3D-touch enabled shortcuts . For example, a hard-press on the Settings icon take to route to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wallpaper and Battery settings menus.
“Night Shift uses your iOS device’s clock and geolocation to determine when it’s sunset in your location. Then it automatically shifts the colors in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes,” says Apple.
