Apple recently released its line of smartphones in the recent iPhone press event. Its brothers, iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, will be coming in October.

The report is from French Web site MacGeneration, which stated that Apple is planning a "special event" in October 15.

The website added that a "new iPad" will be unveiled in the launch event. Moreover, other Apple products will make an appearance on the event and will soon slip into the market.

Apple is no stranger in releasing new products in consecutive months. Last year, Apple revealed the iPhone 5 and new iPods in September and then announced the iPad 4 and iPad Mini in October.

Moreover, all signs point to the imminent iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date in October. It is most likely that Apple will release new iPads in October since it has been a year since its predecessors' release.

Furthermore, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo said in his latest note that new iPads will come in Q4 2013. Kuo said that the initial production of iPad models will become full scale on the said quarter. It is worth noting that Kuo has made correct predictions on Apple-related rumours in the past.

Moving back to the expected new devices from Apple, the 10-inch iPad 5 will include features such as an A7 processor, support for 4G/LTE connection, 5 MP rear shooter and internal storage up to 128 GB.

The iPad Mini 2, on the other hand, is also speculated to feature a 7.9-inch screen display with a pixel resolution of 2048 x 1536. Other specs include an A7 processor, 10-hour battery life, FaceTime HD camera and an iSight camera with 1080-pixel HD video recording.

Aside from these, here are five more things that consumers should watch out for in the upcoming iPads launch event in October:

iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 - The updates of Apple tablets will be the star of the rumoured release date. Apple has not confirmed yet the specs and features of the new iPads. However, the features included in the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C gave consumers hints on what to expect on the said release date.

iOS 7 for iPad - It was reported that the release for the iOS 7 for iPad was delayed. The details were undisclosed and this could be due to the release of new iPads.

New Macs - Apple also needs to refresh its line-up of Macs. The company is rumoured to release new iMacs, including the much-awaited MacBook Pro, alongside the iPads.

OS X Mavericks - Apple already confirmed the release of OS X Mavericks in fall of this year. OS X Mavericks will include new features such as Finder with tabs and tags, iBooks and Apple Maps for Macs, better support for multiple monitors and smart technologies for longer battery life.

Apple TV - According to 9to5Mac, Apple will also bring out updates to the Apple TV hardware.
