Tech giant finally put iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date rumours to rest when it finally released the press invite for its event on October 22.

The invitation-only event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10in the morning. The press invite has a tagline "We still have a lot to cover" and embedded with multi-coloured leaves resembling the press invite of iPhone 5S, 5C event.

The press invite provides some hints on what consumers must expect at the upcoming iPad event on October 22.

The upcoming Apple event is expected to introduce the refreshed iPads. iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 are expected to be the stars of the event.

iPad 5 features is expected to include a 64-bit A7 processor, M& GPU chip and fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone 5S. The full-fledged iPad 5 is expected to keep its 128GB internal storage as well as its 5 megapixels rear camera.

iPad Mini 2, on the other hand, will retain its 7.9 inches screen display but will most likely be upgraded to retina screen display. The smaller and cheaper iPad will also pack a 64-bit A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Aside from the tablets, Apple is also expected to unveil the MacBook Pro 2013 with Haswell processor. The Apple laptop will feature faster wifi and storage options as well as whole day battery life just like the recently updated MacBook Air.

We may also see different colours of iPad just like the iPhone 5C as hinted by the press invite. There were rumours before that a cheaper iPad Mini will be released before the holiday season. The low cost iPad Mini will be like iPhone 5C housed in colourful casings.

Lastly, the event will also roll out the new Mac OS. OS X Mavericks is expected to come with MacBook Pro 2013. Some of the new features for the latest OS X include "a new Maps app, a tabbed finder, iBooks, new look to the calendar, improved Safari, iCloud Keychain, multiple displays and more."

However, Apple has not disclosed any details on the upcoming event.
