iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date is expected to happen on Oct. 15 and Apple may release iPads in different colour variants.

Consumers may see new tablets with colourful cases following the success of iPhone 5C. The rumour originated from the sales figures of colourful iPhones paying off. A report from Daily Mail claimed that pink iPhone 5C accounted for half of the total units sold.

Leaked images from casemaker Tactus hinted that iPad will sport brightly coloured cases.

Last week, a YouTube video emerged and showed the final designs of the upcoming iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2.

The Apple logo at the back seemed cut out and a piece was fitted inside like a jigsaw puzzle. The original Apple logo in iPads is carved out on the shell.

Based on the rumours, the iPad 5 is definitely thinner than its predecessor and has narrower bezels. The design resembles that of iPad Mini and iPad Mini 2. Watch the video below.

iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 is rumoured to be released on Oct. 15. This release date rumour came from French Web site MacGeneration, which reported that Apple will hold a "special event" on the said date alongside products like iMacs and Mac OS. Moreover, iPad 4 and iPad Mini will celebrate its first birthday.

iPad 5 features are expected to include a 64-bit A7 processor and M7 GPU chip; fingerprint sensor; support for 4G/LTE connection; 5MP rear shooter and internal storage up to 128GB.

iPad Mini 2, on the other hand, will feature the same 7.9 inches screen display. The tablets may come with different colours - gold, black and silver. Apple is also expected to follow the current pricing strategy of iPads.
