Not only that the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 release dates are expected to mirror the same A7X 64-bit CPU that will debut with the iPhone 5S, the handset's gold plating and its Touch ID fingerprint scanner are also seen to make it on the two tablet refreshes.

This is envisioned by long-time iOS device designer Martin Hajek, whose latest iPad concepts were clearly inspired by the main features flashed by Apple through the recently unveiled iPhone 5S.

Easily noticeable on the images published by Mr Hajek is the smaller iPad wrapped in a champagne-looking back cover that overlaps at the handset's four edges and fusing with an immaculate-clean white face plate.

On front, the Mini 2 render gives off the same profile that was seen in the first build - a 7.9-inch screen that is sandwiched by thin bezels on the left and right edges. The top and bottom spaces allow just enough room to accommodate the front-cam sensor and the revised Home button.

And like in the 5S, Mr Hajek thought it wise to ditch the physical key, opting instead for the capacitive build, represented this time by a circular control key that should pretty much pack the same iPhone rendition.

That would mean this iPad Mini 2 is equipped too by the biometrics-powered Touch ID, which serves as users' more secured entry point to the gadget.

The same attributes are extended to the bigger iPad 5 at 9.7-inch. And in line with analysts' projections and the recently-leaked images, the original iPad indeed sports a trimmed down body - looking almost exactly like its little brother in build and control configurations.

While it was not mentioned, the designer clearly would want the two iPads to boasts of Retina display panel - a usual enhancement for the bigger screen iPad and the first for the Mini 2 following the disappointing screen that consumers got with the 2012 edition.

And to match the outside improvements, the slate duo are also seen to flex more muscles from inside, perhaps coming from an A7X processing chip that reports said will be supplied by TSMC.

The same CPU is touted to bring 64-bit computing power to the new breed of Apple devices, which according to experts should lead to faster and more efficient performance from iOS gadgets across the board.

Apple desribed its devices' new instruction sets as a forward-looking breakthrough, interpreted by analysts as the tech giant's unique way of future-proofing its product line in anticipation a coming mobile computing standard.

Release date for both the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 is pegged between October and November 2013 with loads of new killer features packed by Apple with the iOS 7.
