iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Release Date Soon as Apple and Best Buy Offer iPad Promos
Apple and Best Buy offered deals and discounts for the current iPads. Was the new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 coming soon?
Best Buy was offering a new promo, giving its consumers a free $50 gift card with the purchase of Retina iPad or iPad 2. A customer who will buy an iPad Mini will get a $25 gift card. The offer was valid to all iPad models - wifi and cellular.
According to Best Buy's ad:
"When you add an iPad® with Retina® display or iPad 2 to your cart, a $50 gift card will be automatically added as well. When you add an iPad mini to your cart, a $25 gift card will be automatically added."
The promo was valid until July 22.
Last weekend, Best Buy also offered $200 Best Buy credit in exchange for trading-in your old iPad.
Apple was also giving away a free App Store gift card with all iPad, iPhone and Mac purchases made by students this summer. If you buy an iPad or iPhone you will get a $50 Apple Gift Card to spend on apps, music, games or eBooks, across the App Store, iTunes and iBookstore.
Get a $100 gift card on top of the standard 15 percent student discount when you buy a Mac.
It seemed that Apple and its retailers were getting rid of their remaining inventory. It was expected that Apple will unveil the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 with retina display later this year. Thus, the promos and discounts aimed to attract consumers to exhaust all of the remaining stocks.
The company's tablet, iPad Mini 2, was speculated to come with Retina Display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, although some reports claimed that there was a delay when it came to the production of the said feature.
Other specs included a more powerful dual core A7 processor, 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080-pixel HD video recording.
The iPad 5, on the other hand, was rumoured to have no bezels, and the whole form factor was made sleeker.
