iPad 5 release date is coming very soon but it may have seen its match with the release of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy note 12.2.

Reports claimed that tech giant Apple is currently prepping up for the imminent release of iPad 5 and will battle against Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2. Apple long dominated the tablet market with iPads. However, Samsung posed a threat to Apple with its own line of affordable tablets.

iPad 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablets are set for release by the end of this year. It was reported that iPad 5 release date may happen sometime in October. Latest reports claimed that iPad 5 will be launched on October 15.

Samsung, on the other hand, has not detailed the release date of the Galaxy Note 12.2.

Alleged photos of iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 leaked online last week and hinted on the possible design of the Apple tablets. This week, parts of the new iPads surfaced hinting that the tablets will also come in three colours like the iPhone 5S.

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicted that the new iPads will come in the fourth quarter of 2013. Based on his latest research note, Kuo said that the initial production of iPad models will enter full-scale mass production on the fourth quarter. Kuo is considered as an authority when it comes to Apple-related rumours.

Kuo added that consumers should expect an A7 processor; support for 4G/LTE connection; 5MP rear shooter and internal storage up to 128GB on the next generation of iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2, on the other hand, is rumoured to include a 12.2 inches screen display with 2560x1600 pixel resolution; Exynos 5 Octa core processor; and will run with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS or the 4.4 KitKat

However, both companies have not confirmed yet the concrete release date of their devices.
