The next generation of iPad will be released in early September, according to a reliable analyst.

According to the latest note of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, iPad 5 and iPhone 5 with plastic casing will debut in early September.

The iPhone 5 with plastic casing could be the rumoured low-cost iPhone haunting the Internet and puzzling consumers. Kuo also speculated that the iPhone model will bear a price tag of $450 to $550.

No successor of the iPad Mini will be released this year. The delay could be due to the production of the Retina display and the components required to improve power efficiency needed in a smaller tablet. Apple will likely shoot for a launch in March or April 2014.

Kuo created a good reputation when it comes to Apple-related rumours, since some of his previous speculations became true.

We can deduce that instead of the iPad Mini 2 debuting alongside the next generation of the iPad 5, Apple will introduce the plastic version of the iPhone 5 in September. It also served as a clue that the low-cost iPhone may boast the specs and features of the iPhone 5.

Apple CEO Tim Cook initially said in an interview that the company had no plans of releasing a cheaper iPhone. Technically, we could take the plastic casing as a downgrade from the usual aluminium casing that iPhone is known for. On the plus side, we may enjoy the features of the iPhone 5 at a lower price.

The iPad 5, on the other hand, was rumoured to have slimmer bezels while still sporting the same sleek and sophisticated design.

Meanwhile, the cheaper iPhone 5S was expected to boast a 4-inch screen display, a dual core processor and an 8MP back camera all housed in a cheap plastic casing.
