iPad 5 Release Date on Oct. 22 to Show Off 13-Inch Tablet
The rumuored iPad 5 release on October 22 will possibly showcase a tablet with a screen size of 13 inches.
The rumour emerged after reports claimed that Apple is testing larger screen displays for its upcoming devices.
People familiar with Apple plans tipped AllThingsD that the company will hold an invitation-only event on October 22 and will showcase updated iPad devices. The MacBook Pro, Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks are also expected to make an appearance in the said event. It is still unspecified where the event will take place.
Analysts from Wall Street speculated that Apple will release a 13-inch iPad with the new 64-bit A7 processor to target the business sector and to replace laptops and computers.
According to Barclays Equity Research, the 64-bit A7 processor will optimize the performance of the tablet. The 13-inch iPad will also target businessmen carrying 13-inch laptops.
The research firm also said that Apple's larger iPad will also feature bigger RAM, a keyboard embedded Smart Cover and longer battery life. The new iPad will be priced between $600 and $800.
iPad 5 is rumoured to include features such as a 64-bit A7 processor, M& GPU chip and fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone 5S.
iPad 5 is expected to retain some of its features such as the 128GB storage options and 5 megapixels rear camera, although many consumers wished that the new iPad will pack an 8MP rear shooter. All of these features are housed in an iPad Mini-like design with a slimmer casing.
iPad Mini 2, on the other hand, will retain its 7.9 inches screen display but may include a retina display. The miniature iPad will also pack a 64-bit A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor like the latest full-fledged iPhone.
Apple still has not sent out official invitations to any upcoming launching event. Thus, consumers may still have to wait for a word from the Cupertino-based company.
