A sexier iPad 5 on release date this 2013, said to happen in October, should be the iOS 7 slate's main attraction aside, of course, from the likelihood that the device is showing off more muscles plus the expected killer features.

Style, however, is the core emphasis of the iPad 4 replacement and in a latest 5-minute-plus clip from Chinese gadget retailer Sw-Box.com, picked up by MacRumors, the tablet is explicitly shown bearing the dimensions that place it in the middle ground of the original iPad and the hot-selling iPad Mini.

Head out to this link to watch the full video.

In it, the silver gray-covered iPad 5 was shown face-down and sitting side by side with the iPad 4 and the iPad Mini. Instantly, the upcoming device is seen as the lighter and leaner iPad compared to its predecessors - the regular-size iPads from build number one to four.

Yet relative to the Mini, the same gadget can be easily called as the slightly bigger compact iOS slate, likely sharing all its features and functions only in scaled up serving.

In one of the pics that accompanied the same report, the iPad 5 enclosure was measured at length of 239.20mm and width of 169.50mm, losing 15mm and 2mm respectively from the last official design.

It goes without saying that significant pounds were also shed by the upcoming device, somehow confirming analysts' assertions that consumers are getting a slimmed down version of the original iPad.

It is believed that the redesign was motivated by Apple's thrust of rekindling interest on the larger iPad, which supposedly has been eclipsed by the iPad Mini both in popularity and sales figures.

With the fifth-gen iPad becoming sexier, the tech giant is upbeat that it will regain its former lustre. Prior to the Mini's arrival, the iPad 5 redefined the global computer market and proved as the biggest revenue generator for Apple, next of course to the iPhone models.

The new video and images further supported the growing impression that Apple has implemented a radical redesign of its original tablet line, shrinking its size and heft but keeping its 9.7-inch display panel.

The same screen size but smaller gadget profile was made possible by trimming the bezels surrounding the tablet's viewing window, leading to a general look that heavily borrows from the iPad Mini.

Yet while the footprint has been reduced, the larger iPad stays the same lean machine when it was first rolled out with the fifth build boasting of a faster processor and a Retina panel that has only gained more improvements.

And matching the inner component upgrades are the likely new colour options of gold, silver and gray. It's highly possible too that the Touch ID fingerprint scanner introduced via the iPhone 5S home button will be part of the new iPad 5 package though the feature is said to be part only of the iPad Mini 2.

Release date of the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 is slated to take place in the immediate weeks or days following the rumoured Apple media event on Oct 15.
