iPad 5 vs. Google Nexus 10 2: Which 10-Inch Tablet to Buy Next Month?
iPad 5 and Google Nexus 10 2 are expected to be released next month. Which 10-inch tablet should you buy?
Two premiere tablets are expected to engage in a battle royale next month. These are the iPad 5 and Google Nexus 10 2.
According to the latest rumours, Google Nexus 10 2 will be launched on October 14 alongside Android 4.4 KitKat and Google Nexus 5. iPad 5, on the other hand, was rumoured to be unveiled the next day, October 15, with iPad Mini 2, MacBook Pro 2013 and OS X Mavericks.
The alleged release dates were both possible as the previous iPads were released October last year. The former Nexus 10 tablet was released in November 2012. It will be a year since the first battle of Apple and Google. This year, it seemed that Google wants to get ahead of the tablet race.
Rumours say that the Google Nexus 10 2 will have an improved design. It may sport an 8.9 mm frame that will significantly reduce the size and weight of the tablet. The device is also rumoured to include new features such as a larger internal storage with an expandable storage via MicroSD slot as well as LTE Connectivity support, which were both lacking on the previous Nexus 10.
Google had made a buzz since last year for releasing high end devices offered at a cheaper price, which immediately attracted a great following among consumers.
Meanwhile, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo stands that the new iPads will be on its way by the fourth quarter of this year. Kuo said that iPad 5 mass production will be on the said quarter hinting the imminent release date of the Apple tablet. According to the latest note of the reliable Apple analyst, Kuo said that the 10-inch iPad 5 will boast a 64-bit A7 processor; support for 4G/LTE connection; 5MP rear shooter and internal storage of up to 128GB.
Apple tablets are popular because of its world-renowned brand as well as its specs and features.
However, both Google and Apple offered no comment on the rumours toward their respective devices. Thus, consumers must sit tight until official announcement is released by the companies.
