Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition that will battle head on with other tablets in the market like the upcoming iPad 5.

The 2014 Note 10.1 is Samsung's first high-resolution tablet. The tablet has 10.1 inches screen display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution that is 299 pixels per inch. This is a big improvement compared to the previous Note 10.1 which boasts 1,280 x 800 display.

The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition packs a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor. Meanwhile, the HSPA+ and Wi-Fi only models have a 1.9-Ghz octa-core processor paired with 3 GB RAM.

Other highlighted features of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 are the S-Pen stylus and multi-tasking feature. Samsung promised improved S-Pen that will be a great benefit to the new Note features such as Action Memo, Scrapbook and Screen Write.

Users can now use more than one app and can have an interface of multiple chat windows opened all at once.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is expected to have a worldwide release as early as September 25 or next month.

On the other hand, it was reported that the iPad 5 release date will happen on September 10 alongside the next iPhone launch. However, rumours jumped back to October after no clues of the iPad was found on the invitation sent out by Apple.

"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in his interviews, according to a statement.

According to the latest note of KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, an A7 processor, 4G/LTE connection and up to 128 GB of internal storage will be included in the iPad 5 release date. Moreover, the iPad 5 will still feature a 5MP rear camera.

The two tablets are expected to engage in an epic battle in the holidays when many consumers will be going shopping for new devices.
