The sixth generation of full-fledged iPad may pack an even better screen display than iPad Air.

iPad 6 rumours are now surfacing despite the recent release of the refreshed iPad line. According to the research note of KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will release a sixth generation version of the tablet with its usual 9.7-inch screen but this time boasting 30-40% higher resolution than that of the current iPad Air.

"Contrary to speculation that next year's iPad next year may come in a 12" form, or larger, we think it will not change from the current 9.7" format as we think a 12" iPad would not provide a good mobility experience given today's technology limitation," Mr Kuo wrote.

"In light [of] advancing Oxide and a-Si technologies, the PPI of iPad 6, which we expect to come out at end-2014, will exceed that of 2013's iPad 5 by 30-40%, which will offer more competent visuals," Mr Kuo added. He also stated that the iPad Mini 3 will be launched alongside the iPad 6. Mr Kuo is among analysts whose predictions regarding future Apple products are considered reliable.

Speaking of new products, Apple unveiled the new MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks, iPad Air and new iPad Mini last Oct 22.

The iPad Air is thinner and lighter. It retained its 9.7-inch Retina screen display but is powered by 64-bit A7 processor and M7 graphics chip that ensure better and faster processing.

Similarly, the new iPad Mini includes a Retina display, with a screen resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 and 326 ppi, and is powered by 64-bit A7 processor and M7 GPU. It is available in more storage variants, up to 128 GB.

Both Apple tablets are running with the latest iOS 7 that packs new and improved features. The devices also boast longer battery life of up to 10 hours.

The hiPad Air has been available for purchase since Nov 1. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini with Retina display is scheduled for release later this month.
