Good news for Apple fans itching to get their hands on the new iPad Air, Walmart is offering the device for less on Nov. 1.

U.S. Retailer giant will offer the new iPad Air for $479 on its release date from its original price of $499. Moreover, consumers may trade in their old iPads and can receive up to $300, which they can use to buy the new iPad Air. iPad 4 with retina display price is also slashed to $449 now that iPad Air is out.

"Once we launched our smartphone trade-in program earlier this fall, we quickly heard from customers that they also wanted a way to trade-in and up to a newer tablet. We listened and are happy to add tablets to our trade-in program just in time for the holidays," said Steve Bratspies, executive vice president of general merchandise for Walmart U.S.

For many, this is a smart move of Walmart as all retailers and carriers prep for the upcoming holidays. Buyers can start bringing their old tablets on Oct. 23 to an electronics department associate in their local Walmart or Sam's Club.

Apple finally unveiled the thinner and lighter iPad Air, which is 30% lighter than iPad 4. Moreover, the device has narrower bezel just like the iPad Mini.

iPad Air kept its 9.7 inches retina screen display but included the same processor of the recently released iPhone 5S such as 64-bit A7 processor.

No discount will be offered to the iPad Mini with retina display as its price will remain $399. The refreshed iPad Mini is scheduled for release in late Nov.

The new iPad Mini will include a retina display with a screen resolution of the new iPad Mini is 2048 x 1536 with 326 ppi. The new iPad Mini also packs more storage options. The new miniature iPad is now available in 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.

iPad Mini with retina is pre-installed with iOS 7, which boasts new and improved features such as expanded iTunes Radio, Control Center, and AirDrop. Moreover, the Apple's smaller tablet boasts a battery capacity of up to 10 hours.
