The iPad Air Plus and the iPad Mini 4 are probably going to arrive in the coming year. When Apple had released the iPad Mini 3, it came out with minor improvements like the Touch ID sensor, compared to the predecessor model. Rumours have it that the iPad Mini 3 successor will come out with improved specs. Moreover, Apple is going to release a larger tablet called the iPad Air Plus which is expected to feature a 12.2-inch screen.

According to MacRumors, Apple is working on a bigger edition of iPad tablet. The official name of the tablet has not be declared by Apple but rumours are referring it to as "iPad Air Plus" or "iPad Pro." Citing MacFan, a magazine from Japan, Macrumors claims that the iPad Air Plus measures 305.31 x 220.8 x 7 mm.

The iPad Air Plus will be powered with the A8X processor which powers up the iPad Air 2 tablet that was released recently. The tablet is expected to feature dual speakers, one placed above the display and the other one below it. The iPad Air Plus will appear quite similar to the iPad Air 2.

Since the iPad Mini 3 has come with no major enhancements except the fingerprint sensor, Apple is believed to be working on iPad Mini 4 with upgraded features. IBTimes India claims the iPad Mini 4 will look a lot like the iPad Air 2 but it will come with features like a newer A8X processor with 128-bit architecture, 2 GB of RAM and thinner and lighter body. The source claims that the arrival of iPad Mini 4 will result in the discontinuation of the existing mini tablets including the iPad Mini 3 which was also released alongside the iPad Air 2.

According to Fool.com, going by the traditional release patterns of iPad Mini tablets, the iPad Mini 4 is most likely to get unveiled around October. Since the iPad Mini 3 is not doing well in the market, Apple may opt to roll out the iPad Mini 4 sooner. MacRumors states that iPad Mini 4 and iPad Air Plus release dates would probably slot between April and June in the coming year.Apple has not confirmed anything on the iPad Air Plus and iPad Mini 4.
