iPad Mini 2 Images Leaked in "Space Grey" Colour, See Release Date and Specs Rumours [PHOTO]
New images of the alleged iPad mini 2 have emerged on the net. The images are shown to be in the new "Space grey" colour. Apple introduced the new colour for its flagship smartphone the iPhone 5S.
Apple fans had been wondering if the new colour variant would be available on other devices like the iPad mini 2 and the iPod. The new colour would be replacing the "Slate" colour found on Apple devices.
The newly leaked images give weight to the possibility. A Japanese parts retailer is selling the back panels in the new "Space grey" colour. The title of the images reads "iPad mini 2."
There have been many leaks of the device in the past but they have all been in the silver colour. The silver coloured back panel is attached to a white front panel. With the leaks of the new colour analysts speculate that it could be available on the iPad 5 as well.
Apple is expected to launch the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 in October. The iPad 4 and the first iPad mini were launched in October 2012. The launch date for the 2013 event is rumoured to be Oct 15.
The iPad mini 2 is expected to have a better screen resolution than 1024 x 768, found in the previous generation model. Analysts speculate that it may come with a retina display but this may require a bigger battery and a bulky design.
Will Apple launch a retina display without a better battery? Can it pull off a battery improvement without jeopardising the design?
The iPad mini 2 is expected to have the same narrow bezel design with a 7.9 inch screen. The processor on the device is expected to be the A6X, which is found on the iPad 4. Some analysts speculate an A7 dual core processor is also possible if the device features Retina display.
The camera on the device is expected to get an upgrade to 8 MP. The previous model featured a 5 MP camera. The secondary camera may remain to be 1.2 MP, but with enhanced features like the ability to shoot 1080p videos.
