A new rumour emerged, claiming that the upcoming iPad Mini 2 will have a tag price of $299 on its release.

Various sources say that the second-generation iPad mini will indeed be a Retina Display product. Apple has already gone there with everything from the full size iPad to the iPhone (4, 4S, and 5) and iPod touch. The iPad Mini 2 will indeed be revised to the much more attractive sounding $299 price tag once its generational turnover happens.

A new rumour claimed that Apple's upcoming tablets iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 will be released in October. The rumour was because of the delay due to the alleged separation of Apple and Chinese factory Foxconn. The latter hinted that it is not working on the production of the tablets. Some sources, on the other hand, claimed that the tablets will be released in September.

According to rumours, iPad Mini 2 is speculated to feature a screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. This is almost four times the resolution of the present iPad Mini and is equal to the fourth-generation iPad which was released along with the iPad Mini in 2012. AU Optronics has been rumoured to be making displays for the iPad Mini 2.

Other specs include a more powerful dual core A7 processor and a 7.9-inch screen. It will also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. Apple is also trying to reduce the thickness of the iPad Mini 2 by using the Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its screens.
