Top 3 Reasons to Snub the iPad Mini 2 or the Nexus 7 2

Here are three good reasons to snub the iPad mini 2 or the Nexus 7 2. Everyone sees things differently, but these three things should help potential tablet shoppers strike off one item from their list of choices.

1. Price. The iPad mini 2 starts at $399. That's only 16GB of non-expandable storage, with no 4G or LTE connectivity. The same amount could get you the 32GB LTE variant of Nexus 7 2 (if this variant is released to your country). You will snub the mini if you want to moderate the exit of cash from your wallet (or plastics).

2. iOS 7 or Android 4.3. If you want more control over your files in your tablet, you have to download a utility called a jailbreak from a third-party developer to run your iPad mini 2. In contrast, the Android environment running on Nexus 7 2 -- Jelly Bean or Kit Kat (soon) -- holds no prisoners. However, it is believed there are more vulnerability issues in a more "open" environment. Which operating system do you snub?

3. Processor and Memory. If you're a power user - playing loads of games, viewing lots of videos, multi-tasking often - you may find the 1GB RAM (memory) and dual-core processor of the iPad mini 2 a bit unattractive - at least on paper. The Nexus 7 2 boasts of quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. However, Apple is taking a lot of pride from offering a 64-bit architecture with the iPad mini. Which numbers matter more to you?
