Even though, Apple’s upcoming bigger tablet dubbed iPad Pro has been rumour mill’s favourite topic, the iPad Mini 4 has apparently started garnering attention globally. According to latest reports, the Apple Mini 4 will reportedly be the slimmest Apple tablet ever produced by the tech giant.

Going by The Latin Post’s summary report, the purported Apple iPad Mini 4 will apparently be an upgraded or refreshed version of the predecessor iPad Mini 3. In hindsight, Business Insider reminds that, when Apple released the predecessor Mini 3 alongside the iPad Air 2, many reviewers and analysts were reportedly very critical of the mini tablet. This is mainly because: The iPad Air 2 turned out to be faster, slimmer and relatively more secure with the addition of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which supports Apple Pay for shopping online. However, the iPad Mini 3 comes with the fingerprint sensor but then the rest of the configurations are similar to the predecessor Mini 2. To top it off, the iPad Mini 3 reportedly costs $100 more than the Mini 2. Therefore, needless to say, critics were not willing to go easy on the Apple tablet and instead, remarked vociferously against the tablet as it did not add any value for the buyer.

In addition, during the time of Mini 3 release, there were many Android tablets from Samsung and others making an impact with the price range lesser than the Apple device. In addition, the iPad Mini 4’s quintessential aluminium chassis will also be slimmer when compared to the current model, notes The Latin Post.

Speaking of iPad Mini 4 release date, following the Apple trend of release, the device could be launched in October time-frame, opines Mac World. Other rumoured iPad Mini 4 features include 2 GB of RAM configuration and a 7.9-inch display. Plus, The Christian Post says, the upcoming device will likely come with an Apple A9 processor under the hood.
