iPhone 5 may have been subjected to criticisms everywhere, but the numbers do not lie. If it's true that Apple's latest smartphone took 2 million pre-orders within 24 hours, would naysayers still call iPhone 5 boring?

Tumblr user applesolo points out what some Apple-bashers do not seem to appreciate:

"[Apple] accomplish major engineering feats by doing things like redesigning some components to be the same quality if not better but in a smaller package (e.g. rear camera). They upgrade absolutely every single part of the phone from CPU to cellular baseband processor to dock connector to audio system to screen..."

Another Tumblr user, jasontoheal, takes into account that many Android users are likely to switch to iOS:

"I know a few people planning to switch to iOS from Android, and it won't be that painful. If I wanted to switch to Android myself (from iPhones), I'm not really going to miss a beat seeing I already use gmail, google contacts, dropbox, Flickr. I would miss instapaper, and the way apples stuff syncs beautifully across all my devices."

Earlier, Chris Matyszczyk of CNet.com wrote about the reason why Apple fans choose the iPhone over other smartphones.

"People don't buy the iPhone for all the features. They buy it for all those quirky, irrational, emotional, maddening reasons that make people's eyes glaze over and their minds work like a blancmange clock... There are no lists nor self-help books that can tell you how to do that. That does, sometimes, take a little genius."

Some Apple fans do not care about criticisms against iPhone 5, obviously. They care more about their iPhone 5 cases, that's why.
