It could be said that the level of anticipation among Apple fans building towards the launch of the new iPhone 5 is incomparable to the hype around any other consumer product. Every now and then, news around the Apple product takes the anticipation a notch higher, which serves Apple well when it eventually release the actual product, which by then would have been subjected to various rumours and speculations.

Larger Screen, Cruved Cover Glass
According to the Apple news site iLounge, it has heard from its own sources that the next version of Apple's phone will have a larger 4-inch screen (the current iPhone has a 3.5-inch display), a metal back, and a new dock connector. iLounge's Jermey Horwitz added that "the new iPhone will indeed be longer and thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S,will have a new back; it it will have a metal panel but won't be curved as other reports have suggested".

Yet, there are rumours that it will be glass curved, as Digitimes reports, that according to industry sources, Apple is planning to adopt a "curved cover glass" for its next generation iPhone.

Rumoured Price Range
WIth regard to its price various reports say, the best prediction for the iPhone 5 handset price in the UK is around £510 for the 16 GB and £612 for the 32 GB which is similar to iPhone 4S at launch. The contract best prices are likely to be around £189 for 16 GB and £280 for the 32 GB on an 18 month £35 monthly tariff.

Liquidmetal
Rumours in liquidmetal which will used for the back of iPhone 5 was affirmed by Atakan Peker, Founder of Liquidmetal who says that Liquidmetal still needs time to develop. "For example, I estimate that Apple will likely spend on the order of $300 million to $500 million - and three to five years - to mature the technology before it can used in large scale," Peker told Business Insider's Steve Kovach.

Quad-Core Processor
It's expected quad-core processor debut in the new iPhone 5 - probably called the Apple A6, larger 4-inch curved glass screen, 8mp camera and will cost £500 for a 16GB / 32GB model.

Launch Schedule
Apple is even rumoured to launch it in the second half of the year, perhaps in September, close to a year after the iPhone 4S was released.
