iPhone 5 Wins Drop Test Versus Galaxy S4; Does Galaxy S4 Has Reliable Durability? [Video]
Samsung Galaxy S4 is the latest flagship smartphone recently released representing Android OS and goes head on with Apple's current generation iPhone 5 in a series of drop test to determine which is the durable one.
Galaxy S4 has a lot of features ranging from basic phone functions to health and fitness while iPhone 5 came out in fall of 2012 retaining all original hardware technologies from that year.
Drop Test Level 1
In the experiment done by Mashable.com, both devices were dropped at pocket level simulating users who accidentally drop their phones while bringing it out of their pockets. Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 landed not so good on the rough ground but none of them took serious damage.
Drop Test Level 2
The test begins at chest level simulating users texting when clumsiness kicks in and drops their devices. Both Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 slammed on the ground adding more dents and scratches around their casing but seems alright and still functional.
Drop Test Level 3
It's scary to see your phone smashing itself on the ground at 7 feet high, over head of a person. Though rare, this scenario can happen to everyone accidentally. At this level, Galaxy S4 sustained a part of its screen with spider-web like cracked and fragments were felt as well; iPhone 5 remains whole.
Drop Test Level 4
Having your device drop at 10 feet is highly rare but for the sake of testing it, both devices must be dropped at the same height. The tester used the same devices on level 3 and surprisingly, Galaxy S4 ended up with a shattered screen. iPhone 5 remains tough and strong throughout the test.
Rolled Over by a Car
Since Galaxy S4 was defeated in the drop test, iPhone 5 challenged the bonus round by being rolled over by a car. Although the speed of the vehicle was very slow and the driver was lenient, iPhone 5 was not crushed at all and the screen is remains intact.
