Two low cost smartphones are expected to arrive later this year that will surely confuse many consumers. These are Google Nexus 5 and iPhone 5C.
A friendly tag price is one of the considerations of many consumers when buying any device. Thus, cheaper devices proved to be popular among consumers, especially when low price is paired with high end specs and features.
Google's Nexus smartphones, especially the current LG Nexus 4, are known to have combined great specs and features as well as cheaper price. However, Apple is reported to enter the same market soon and to offer a cheaper iPhone for first time smartphone users and for the main market of third world countries.
Now, both Google and Apple are expected to fight over the attention of consumers later this year. Google's rumoured Nexus 5 may equipped a 5-inch Full HD screen display; an eight-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz paired with 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM; 13 MP rear camera; 3300 mAh battery capacity and the latest Android OS.
The handset was rumoured to be available in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants and will support 4G/LTE connectivity, which was missing in the Nexus 4.
Meanwhile, Apple is bound to offer the cheaper iPhone 5C. According to reports, C stands for either "cheaper" or "colours" since the device is expected to be cheap and come in different colours.
The iPhone 5C is rumoured to boast a 4-inch screen display, a dual core processor and an 8 MP back camera all housed in a cheap plastic casing. Consumers may also expect iPhone 5's specs and features in the iPhone 5C.

Operating System - iPhone 5C will include the latest iOS 7. Meanwhile, the Google Nexus 5 was expected to include a 4.3 version of the said OS.
Camera - The iPhone 5C will most likely come with 8 MP rear shooter that will go against the 13 MP back camera of Google Nexus 5.
Price and Availability - The iPhone 5C will be available in early September and was speculated to cost $99 via carriers. Other reports claimed that the unlocked version of the device will cost $300.
