iPhone 5s, iPhone 6: Confirmed Fingerprint Sensor, 8MP Camera, and Unlocked Price for $700?
Upcoming iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 has been exposed having fingerprint sensor, 8MP rear camera shooter and buyable as unlocked for only $700.
Critics and fans are anxious on Apple's big surprises to the much awaited comeback of iPhone. As the Android matches and churning the market with Galaxy S4, Nexus line, Xperia Z and HTC One, what do we really now about the iPhone 5s or iPhone 6?
Debut Date
Reports claimed that Apple has already begun iPhone 5s production and may follow the tradition of unveiling every fall. But Apple may unwrap the upcoming generation as early as June and probably be released as late as September.
Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities boasts a pretty solid record and expects Apple to launch the next generation iPhone in July. In this, the company will avoid the fatal mistake which happened in 2012 delay of iPhone 5.
Hardware Specifications
Ming-Chi Kuo's sources revealed some of the most notable hardware in the next generation iPhone such as fingerprint reader, 8MP rear-shooting camera, 1.2MP front camera, Smart Flash, 1600 mAh battery pack, 2 metallic casing colours, 7.6mm thickness and 112g of weight.
No details yet have been confirmed regarding the new camera chip and lens used or any new functional features inclusive with the next-gen iPhone.
Smart Flash Feature
According to Kuo, the Smart Flash support allows the iPhone's built-in camera to automatically decide to whether use a white or yellow flash depending on the surrounding light during capture. It is an essential upgrade from the previous generation which doesn't have any Smart Flash and only produce white flash during capture.
Fingerprint Sensor
The fingerprint chip everyone was talking about is designed right under the Home button of the next-gen iPhone. Main purpose of this chip is to improved security and usability of the handset. It was reported that Apple bought AuthenTec which is a security firm specialising in fingerprint-based technologies. Additional, the new fingerprint chip may either scrap out the four-digit pass code or may be added to double security strength.
The Lesser iPhone Coming Out
Although, Tim Cook insists of "no cheap" product will be released, Apple is already settings up discounts of their older models. Rumours spread regarding a "little" brother of the next-gen iPhone which would be less expensive to battle low to mid-range Android devices. Kuo claims the iPhone 5s won't shine alone this year.
Wireless Charging Gone?
Digitimes reported that Apple may utilise wireless charging feature which are actually being used by most Android devices and some Lumias. However, 9to5Mac said that "we shouldn't count on it" in 2013.
"Having to create another device you have to plug into the wall is actually, for most situations, more complicated," according to Phil Schiller, downplayed the wireless charging support.
Brand New iOS 7
Flat! That would the next theme expected to appear on iOS 7. The brand new overhaul of the iOS in iPhone would include less tacky software design and more stripped-down user interface.
Engineers developing the next-gen iPhone have been reported street-testing a sort of polarizing filter on their iPhone displays which greatly decreases viewing angles and making difficult for observers to see apparently. If this is true, not significant system UI will be changed but rather something will be added or removed.
Sources familiar with the iOS design expects Apple to change the Notification Centre drop-down panel and the iOS 7 design would become dark grey or black with white text.
Next-Generation Price
According the Kuo's sources, the next-gen unlocked iPhone is buyable for $600 to $700 while a 2-year contract based handset will cost $199 per unit. This is fairly expensive compared to the low-cost iPhone 5 in the market today.
