Even with the lack of announcements made for the iPhone 5S at Apple's WWDC, it seems that customers and analysts are still hopeful that the absence only pertained to production problems, and a release date set for this year may be still be in the works.

In fact, according to Know Your Mobile, Citigroup analyst Glen Yeung the delay may be due to Apple's step of creating a larger Retina display. As of the moment, there are still no official word on the iPhone 5S, and this alone shows that Apple is keeping mum about the thought-to-be refresh phone.

Given the potential change of a bigger display, can this mean that, instead of an iPhone 5S, Apple is actually looking at an all-new iPhone iteration for its next release?

Whatever the case may be, Yeung's final thought on the matter is that Apple's next iPhone may be looking at an October release, in time for the holidays.

Gearing up for sensors and better processor?

On the note of speculations, leaked photos have once again surfaced, this time pointing to the iPhone 5S front panel with a new array of sensors that seem to be the next addition to the iPhone.

However, this particular rumor goes against Yeung's thoughts on the new iPhone, as the photos show the screen to be of a similar size as the iPhone 5, reports GSM Arena.

This time, the leak has allegedly come straight from Foxconn subcontractor's assembly line, though it's still a questionable photo in terms of its legitimacy.

Other components of the phone are still in the same order, with the front-facing camera still it eh same position. With regard to previous leaks pertaining to a ribbon cable being used for the camera, the latest leak does not confirm nor deny such a feature.

Still more colors and a faster processor

Finally wrapping up the iPhone 5S rumor mill still involves the colorful design and an improved processor.

US Switch reports that the iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6, considering the changes) will now feature the A7 quad-core chipset and a 2GB RAM, pushing the capabilities far apart from its predecessors.

Security-wise, there is still the rumor about fingerprint sensors via the home button, bringing a unique change to the password security combo. The report adds that apart from the sensor, there will also be an enhanced image recognition feature, this time putting two backup alternatives, either a voice recognition mechanism or an identification option on the screen.

As for the color, the speculation comes from Brian White of Topeka Capital, who names pink and blue as an addition to the black and white color options of the iPhone 5S.
