Apple just dominated a recent survey from Digital Spy. According to the poll, Apple's iPhone 5 takes the crown for the best phone in 2013, while its iPad Air won as the best tablet. Both devices sold like hotcakes since they were released. With the number of competition around, it seems Apple was able to maintain its hold on the top position. Do you agree?

There were more than 22,600 people who took part in the poll. According to the results, the iPhone 5s took over more than half the votes casted for its category. The device measures 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm (4.87 x 2.31 x 0.30 in) and weighs 112 g (3.95 oz). It features a 500-dpi pixel density fingerprint sensor (Touch ID). The iPhone 5s also comes with a LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen, offering 16M colours with Corning Gorilla Glass and oleophobic coating. It runs on an Apple A7, dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) and PowerVR G6430 (quad-core graphics).

The iPhone 5s made waves because of its 64-bit processor. Other competitors are on their way to including such type of processor in their line but Apple already has it. Analysts say this is one of the major advantages of the handset over others.

As for tablets, the iPad Air went home as the winner. The tablet bested its cousin, the iPad Mini that ranked second. The iPad Air measures 240 x 169.5 x 7.5 mm (9.45 x 6.67 x 0.30 in) and weighs 469 g (Wi-Fi)/478 g (3G/LTE) (1.03 lb). It comes with a LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours offering 1,536 x 2,048 pixels, 9.7 inches (~264 ppi pixel density). It also runs with an Apple A7, dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) and PowerVR G6430 (quad-core graphics) ensuring performance.
