iPhone 5S, when it is finally released, will come head to head with two super Android phones in the market today. The HTC One has been dubbed the 2013 best Android phone, but the Samsung Galaxy S4 is outselling the device. Will the new iPhone be able to compete with these phone's specs and features?

Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts of special features that may not be helpful on a daily basis, but are fancy features, anyway. Air View, for instance, allows users to merely hover their palm or finger above the screen to preview videos. (This is not really new to Samsung Note 2 users.) The super Android phone also has Smart Pause, Optical Reader and Cinema Photo, among others. It also hypes up its 13MP rear camera.

Inside the Galaxy S4 is either a Qualcomm 1.9 GHz quad-core Snapdragon Fusion Pro or 1.6GHz Octa-core Exynos 5 Octa, matched to GB of RAM. Its screen display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 for a pixel density of 441 ppi. Unlike the HTC One, the S4 allows storage expansion up to 64 GB. It is juiced up by a 2600 mAh removable battery.

HTC One is the 'Best Android Phone' of 2013 (or half of 2013, at least), according to a pop website's readers. Lifehacker.com polled nearly 17,000 users and 32.42% of the voters gave the One a thumbs-up. HTC One boasts of BlinkFeed, an aggregator of feeds from social media channels. The interface works a lot like Flipboard, with headlines and photos.

The One is packing a robust system with a 1.7Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of DDR RAM. It features a 4.7-in 1080p Super LCD 3 screen display at 468 ppi. It gains more pixel than the S4 for its slightly smaller screen. Its chassis has been widely praised in reviews, with some even saying that it is the most beautiful Android phone to come out in the market.

According to rumours, Apple iPhone 5S will come with a bigger screen display, about 5-inch in diagonal size. New features like eye-detection technology and easy battery power adjustment will also be added, tech blogs are saying. A quad-core A7 chip will reportedly power the new iPhone. However, rumours are overlapping as to what will be featured in iPhone 5S and iPhone 6. The software will also be reportedly greatly improved with iOS 7.

You may be considering an Android phone but is wondering whether the iOS phone is much better. Prioritize what you need against the specs and features being hyped up in reports and reviews. The One and Galaxy S4 are both good on the inside. But for some users, the extra storage and removable battery in S4 makes it better.

To others who put a premium on design, the One is much better. The iPhone is generally perceived to be sophisticated in terms of design. But the restrictive iOS environment can be a turn-off. You may also want to consider the apps that you can use in each device. The Apple App store still reigns supreme for its vast array of vetted apps.

Which smartphone is best for you? Do you think you have to wait for the iPhone 5S release to make a choice?
